"FUTURELAND" takes four seasons as its timeline, employing creative knitting and weaving techniques to display immersive changes of seasons and creatures in the future world. The works focus on both the micro world and the vast universe, from a perspective of infinitely large and small. Natural things in the world have neither starting point nor end against the backdrop of time. Design works are displayed in different forms of knitted murals and spatial installations.

The creative team takes various texture changes of yarn as the basis of the artistic inspiration, guiding visitors to explore our future land with infinite imagination by a single thread of yarn.

Ms. Xu Yanhui, artist and supervisor of Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation, Donghua University, is Creative Director of Donghua University Consinee Group Knitwear Design Center. She currently lives and works in Shanghai. She is committed to artistic creation with fiber materials. In 2019, she set up the Knitting Library, her own studio. She participated in the touring exhibition “Get it Louder” in China and the exhibition “Pattern” contemporary Chinese fashion art exhibition in Zheng Da Art Museum, and displayed her independent solo exhibition  “A garden of all things woven with yarn” in 2021. Her design works have been exhibited at Milano Fashion Week, collected by the Museum of Art, Lugano, Switzerland, and showcased at Louvre in Paris as exchange activities for the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. She was selected as one of the top ten high-end young creative talents in Shanghai, and one of the 50 Chinese original designers in Vision. Her exploration of artistic creation and academic research focuses on the infinite possibility of artistic creation of fiber materials. She showed great passion in artistic creation during her study in the University of Edinburgh and her travels in Europe. Years of experience as a fashion designer has helped her form an aesthetic expression of using fiber materials, an artistic creation theme of weaving everything with a single yarn. The exhibition series of "A Thread of Yarn" will also continue to extend, and she will continuously share her thoughts about life and the world with her passions.
