CITIC SQUARE is located in the core business district of West Nanjing Road, forming a "Golden Triangle" of office buildings on West Nanjing Road with Meilongzhen Plaza and Hang Lung Plaza. It was once Shanghai's top shopping district and fashion front. Now, it is back after an upgrade and renovation. CITIC SQUARE's renovation project invited Kokaistudios to carry out the architectural renovation and interior design.

CITIC SQUARE adheres to the concept of "Breaking New Ground and Enjoying the Future", giving the public and visitors a fresh feeling. It also integrates music, art, digital technology and other diversified businesses, further enhancing the mall itself and the West Nanjing Road business district's unique cultural and commercial status in downtown Shanghai.

Based on computer image technology, the artist is trying to use the cycle of "fractal and derivation" to turn reality into visual spectacle and re-experience "aesthetics" with an increased chaotic deconstruction method. The title of this work "Kaleidoscope" is built on three Greek roots: "kalos" --- beautiful, "eidos" --- form, and "scope" --- observation instrument. Just like the title, this artwork will be in a pursuit of beauty, and an exploration of aesthetics. Plato said: "Beautiful is difficult." This world has never been simple. In countless Lacanian mirroring games, in the intersection of reality and imagination, perhaps we should be an ignorant but stubborn kid again in the face of beauty.
