On Aug 18th, 2021, STAINEDGLASS, organized by Art Pioneer Studio and L+MALL at Lujiazui Center, officially opened at APSMUSEUM and the outside and inside of the shopping mall.

The exhibition is co-organized by Art Pioneer Studio and L+ MALL, supported by Pro Helvetia Shanghai, Swiss Arts Council. “Stained Glass” is a dual exhibition of Chinese and Swiss artists, offering further opportunities for international communication and cooperation in art during the global pandemic period. The famous Swiss artists group AATB and the renowned Chinese new media artist Hu Jieming presented the exhibition “Stained Glass” together, which uses various artistic media such as video, installation, photography and robotic arm to establish a localized aesthetic message with the mall and to explore the current artistic context in the age of automation and new media.

The exhibition is honoured to have invited many important guests to the opening ceremony, including Mr. Istvan Kocsis Gao Yifan, Acting Consul General of Switzerland in Shanghai, Ms. Lucy Lu Yuxi, Head of the Pro Helvetia Shanghai, Swiss Arts Council, Ms. Cao Liyan, Deputy Director of the Office of Science, Technology, Innovation and Cultural Development of the Shanghai Lujiazui Financial City Development Bureau, Mr. Han Yunqing, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Lujiazui Economic Development Promotion Centre Co., Ltd, Mr. Wang Ande, first General Manager of Shanghai Lujiazui Group, and Mr. Jia Wei, Deputy General Manager of the Municipal Corporation Lujiazui Financial Trade Zone Development Co., Ltd, Mr. Andrew Wang, the first General Manager of Shanghai Lujiazui Group, and Mr. Jia Wei, Deputy General Manager of the Shanghai Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone Development Co., Ltd and General Manager of Lujiazui Commercial Operation & Management Co., Ltd.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Lu Linfeng, followed by speeches from Ms. Robin Wong, founder of Art Pioneer Studio and APSMUSEUM, giving speech at the opening ceremony, Ms. Lucy Lu Yuxi, Head of the Pro Helvetia Shanghai, Swiss Arts Council, Mr. Istvan Kocsis Gao Yifan, Acting Consul General of Switzerland in Shanghai, and Mr. Jia Wei, Deputy General Manager of the Shanghai Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone Development Co., Ltd and General Manager of Lujiazui Commercial Operation & Management Co., Ltd. They all expressed their approval and support for developing the art.

Mr. Hu Jieming, one of the artists in this dual solo exhibition, gave a speech on the special significance of the localized creation of the L+mall and a fascinating discussion on meditative art. Due to the epidemic, the Swiss artist group AATB could not be present in person, so they also gave a speech via video message. Through the colourful light and shadows, "Stained Glas" aims to uses the language of art to beautify the chaos of the outside world and the fast-moving sense of commerce, immersing people in the artistic atmosphere; on the other hand, it is a way to see the outside world through the window of art.

The opening was also attended by several important media, with more than ten media outlets including The Art Newspaper, Wallpaper, shanghai daily, Shanghai TV, The Paper, Contemporary Art, AD, Xinmin Evening News, News Morning Post, Wen Hui Daily and IDEAT carrying out interviews and reports.

The exhibition “Stained Glass” is opening until 30 November 2021 and is free to the public. The four locations in the exhibition will be separated, two of which are officially opened today, and the other two will be opened gradually, bringing more constant surprises later. It’s coming soon!
