Recently, Mr. Olivier Zehnder, Consul General of Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai and his spouse Mrs. Frederique Zehnder Merot, along with Ms. Zhang Huiying Heidi, Deputy Head of Cultural Section, together visited Art Pioneer Studio (APS).
At the on-site office of Art Pioneer Studio, the Founder Ms. Robin Wong and the Deputy General Manager Mr. Wu Leyi introduced the development of Art Pioneer Studio to the guests from Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai and explained in detail about studio’s past commercial art projects including hotels and office buildings, and the implementation of the 2019 Shanghai Urban Space Art Season —— Yangpu Riverside’s permanent public art project. Afterward, Ms. Robin Wong led the guests from Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai and visited the 2019 Shanghai Urban Space Art Season’s permanent public artworks which are executed by Art Pioneer Studio.

Ms. Robin Wong introduced 14 permanent artworks that have been successfully installed in the public space along the 5.5-kilometer river bank on the south section of the Yangpu River to the guests from Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai. The visit includes the work by Swiss-born artist Felice Varini named Set of Diagonals for Cranes which is inspired by the preservation of the industrial heritage crane in Yangpu Riverside. It also includes Mountains - Sophocles, Hercules, Socrates, Homer by artist Xu Zhen® that is installed at Duty Pavilion; Huangpu Hold by Richard Wilson which is made from the scrap parts of the old mooring boats; the video installation, A World, by artist Keisuke Takahashi played in loop inside Ash Bucket Art Space; One Year/ Ten Thousands Year by artist Yoshiyuki Kawazoe installed inside the renovated workshop of old Shanghai soap factory and etc. The guests from Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai appreciated the visit and gave great compliment to this project.
